B-2 Returning To Rose Bowl Flyover

The B-2 Stealth Bomber will be returning to do the Rose Bowl flyover January 1, 2024.

“All flyovers are accomplished using pre-planned training missions and assist in helping to train our pilots, aircrew, and ground control teams,” Bentley noted in an email statement to Air & Space Forces Magazine. Contrary to popular belief, the flyovers do not cost any extra money to taxpayers. Bentley added that the crews benefit significantly from the training they receive, given the numerous variables associated with live public events.” – Air & Space Forces Magazine December 19, 2023.

AFA Palm Springs Sponsors Cyber Patriot

Coachella Valley Cyber Patriot Teams swept through the California competition finals. The awards and refreshments hosted by AFA Palm Springs.

Three teams of middle and high school students from across the Coachella Valley learned Cybersecurity technical skills and developed their team working and critical capabilities in three months of training and competition.

AFA Palm Springs also sponsored Cyber Patriot students and professors for AI and Cybersecurity career forums.

That Was Big!

The Convair XC-99, a transport version of the Convair B-36 bomber, made its first flight in November 1947. Designed to carry 400 troops, 335 litter patients, or 100,000 pounds of cargo, the double-decked XC-99 was powered by six 3,500 hp Pratt & Whitney R-4360-41 pusher-type engines turning 19-foot reversible-pitch propellers.
