On Nov. 23, 2021, NASA launched their first planetary defense test mission from Vandenberg’s Space Launch Complex-4E!

The Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) impact, successfully changed the asteroid, Dimorphos, motion in space and was the first-ever mission dedicated to investigating and demonstrating one method of asteroid deflection by changing an asteroid’s motion in space.
